Our Verdict

The Thule Urban Glide 2 Combo is a great jogging stroller, but it struggles to be the best car seat combo stroller where weight and folded size are critical. However, it is a smooth mover with an impressive turning radius and the ability to safely run. We like the click-in adapters that are easy to use with a variety of infant car seat brands, and we love the versatility this stroller offers with the potential to be the only stroller you need for the life of your strolling years. Due to its substantial size, the Urban Glide isn't a top performer in this review, and it could be a no-go for parents who need something small and light for car seat attachment. But, if that is less of an issue and you want a versatile outdoor powerhouse, then the Urban Glide 2 may be just what you want.

The Maxi-Cosi adapters for the Urban Glide 2 click in on both sides which makes connecting compatible car seats a little trickier as you need to line up both sides simultaneously before pressing down to click in.

Thule offers the Thule Infant Car Seat Adapter (above left) as a somewhat universal adapter that works with some car seats from Chicco, BOB, Britax, Maxi-Cosi, Graco, Nuna, Peg Perego, Safety 1st, and UPPAbaby. This adapter isn't the best, as it requires the car seats to be strapped in place and some users feel that it doesn't work that well with all seat brands. If this were the only adapter option, the Thule would have taken a hit in scoring.

Thankfully, Thule now offers two additional adapters, the Thule Urban Glide Car Seat Adapter for Chicco (above middle) that works with the Chicco Keyfit 30 as a click-in attachment, and the Thule Car Seat Adapter for Maxi Cosi (above right) that works with some options from Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, Cybex, and Be-Safe including the Cybex Aton 2. We like both of these adapters and prefer their click-in attachment over straps. We tested the Chicco adapter, and it is super easy to install and remove. The carrier seems to center itself with little pressure to connect. The seat feels very stable, and we didn't experience any incorrect installations. The Cybex adapter is also a big win as it works with the Aton 2 which earned a Top Pick for Safety award in our infant car seat review and provides click-in attachment.

Weight and Folded Size

Because it is a jogging style stroller, the Thule is not ideal for weight and folded size. The Thule weighs 26.3 lbs and measures 15,388 cubic inches. Neither is useful if you need to fit your car seat stroller in small spaces. However, if you want a one and done stroller you can jog with, the trade-off may be worth it. You can fold the stroller with the car seat adapters in place, but it will make the folded product even bulkier.

Maneuverability

You can't beat the impressive maneuverability of the large swivel front wheel on the Urban Glide 2. With large rubber, air-filled tires it moves smoothly over almost any surface with the wheel locked and can make tight turns with it unlocked. It has adjustable tracking to keep you moving straight and can be used as a jogger when your little one is closer to a year old.

The handlebar is adjustable on a pivot point and covered in dense foam. The seat is a padded sling that when combined with the suspension, it creates a stroller that is comfortable for passengers and pushers.

Ease of Use

The Urban Glide 2 isn't the easiest to use as a car seat stroller.

Fold and Unfold

The Thule is easy to fold and unfold with one twist and turn handle hidden under the seat that you can work with one hand. The Urban Glide 2 has a new automatic lock and it self-stands if the handlebar is adjusted correctly.

Brakes

The brakes are easy to set and release with a wide pedal in the middle of the back near the axle, and it works with open-toed shoes without causing pain. The new Urban Glide 2 also features a deacceleration handbrake that twists forward to slow a moving stroller. This brake works well and while awkward at first, is a design we think most parents will like.

Storage

The Thule is the only option with a covered storage bin. The bin holds up to 10 lbs, and the cover zips in place to keep this clean and dry. The basket has interior pockets for better organization, and passengers have two mesh pockets for snacks and sippy cups. Parents can also use the mesh pocket on the seatback, even with the car seat in place.

Sunshade

While the Urban Glide 2 has a lovely large canopy with a peek-a-boo window, you can't use the canopy in conjunction with an infant car seat carrier. You don't need to remove it, but it isn't usable.

Ease of Setup

The Thule is easy to set up with a time of just over 5 minutes. It doesn't require any tools, and all you do is attach the wheels. The manual is average with multiple languages on the same page, but the illustrations are clear. There is an insert about how to remove the front wheel that can be confusing until you realize it isn't the instructions.

Quality

Thule brings it all to the table with quality materials and design. This stroller has nice ripstop material that fits into hidden grooves for a seamless look with the aluminum frame. Everything on the Urban Glide 2 has a keen attention to detail with durable construction and no manufacturer defects.
